This Cookies Policy (the "Policy") explains the cookies and similar technologies used on GearBid operated by Advanced Civil Construction & Engineering Co., Ltd. (the "Company"), including the categories, purposes, retention periods, and the options you have to control them. We use cookies to run the service properly, to keep you signed in, and to remember convenience settings such as your language choice. Terms not defined here follow the definitions in the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
Because Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) treats processing through cookies as a form of personal data processing, we publish this Policy alongside the Privacy Policy and keep it current. Cookies other than strictly necessary cookies are used only with your prior consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
1. What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. Cookies hold information needed to run the service, such as session identifiers, language settings, and security tokens, so that when you return our server can read the cookie and restore your previous state or provide a personalised experience. There are two kinds of cookies: session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which are kept until a set expiry date.
Separately from cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage are browser storage areas that JavaScript can read and write directly. Unlike cookies, they are not automatically sent to the server with every request. We use local and session storage only for what is strictly needed, under the same principles as cookies. 2. Cookie Categories
The cookies we use or are considering for future use fall into the following four categories by function.
- Essential (Strictly necessary): Cookies required for basic service operation. They maintain your login session, defend against CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) attacks, and synchronise authentication state. These cookies are used without consent for security and user protection; blocking them will prevent core functions such as sign-in and transaction flows.
- Functional: Cookies that remember your convenience settings, such as your language choice across all supported locales and UI preferences, so that you get the same environment on your next visit.
- Performance / Analytics: Cookies used to collect statistics for improving the service, such as visitor counts, page views, and feature usage patterns. We use the product-analytics tool PostHog, and the related data is collected through our own domain (e.gearbid.io). You can withdraw your consent or block these at any time through your browser settings.
- Marketing: Cookies used for advertising, such as ad targeting, campaign measurement, and retargeting. Not currently in use. If we introduce them in the future, we will enable them only for users who have gone through a separate explicit consent flow.
We regularly check that our actual cookie usage matches these categories, and we update this Policy in advance whenever we add a new cookie or change the purpose of an existing one.
3. Purpose and Retention by Cookie
The table below lists the cookies the Company currently uses, along with their name, category, purpose, and retention period. Marketing cookies, which have not yet been introduced, are not listed and will be added to this Policy at the time of introduction.

Cookies marked "When session ends" are session cookies that are deleted as soon as you close the browser or sign out; they do not remain on your device when you are not using the service. NEXT_LOCALE is a persistent cookie that remembers your language choice and is removed when you delete it manually from browser settings or when its expiry is reached. ph_[project]_posthog is a persistent cookie for PostHog product analytics that links your visit and usage events to an anonymous identifier; PostHog also uses your browser's local storage for the same purpose. If you no longer wish to store cookies, you can delete them at any time through your browser settings or the instructions below.
4. Third-Party Cookies
GearBid currently sets essential, functional, and analytics cookies on its own domain. Product analytics (PostHog) is collected first-party through our own domain (e.gearbid.io), so we do not use third-party tracking cookies set directly by external parties such as advertising networks. However, if you use LINE Login, the LINE platform's own servers may issue their own cookies, and the collection and use of those cookies is governed by LINE's privacy policy. We do not access the content of LINE cookies, and the link to those cookies ends when you disconnect LINE integration.
If we later introduce advertising or retargeting tools such as the Meta advertising pixel, we will add the list of third-party cookies (name, provider, purpose, retention) to this Policy, notify you of the introduction in advance, and enable them only after obtaining the necessary consent. We will send notice through reasonable means such as in-app notifications or email, and you can then review the updated policy and decide whether to consent.
5. How to Manage Cookies
Most modern browsers let you block cookie storage entirely or allow or block specific sites. Below is a summary of how to review and change cookie settings in major browsers.
- Chrome: Top-right menu → "Settings" → "Privacy and security" → "Cookies and other site data". You can set the block level and exceptions per site.
- Safari: Menu bar → "Safari" → "Preferences" → "Privacy" tab. Choose your cookie-blocking option and open "Manage Website Data" to delete individual cookies.
- Firefox: Top-right menu → "Settings" → "Privacy & Security" → "Cookies and Site Data". Manage stored cookies and choose a level for third-party tracking cookies under "Enhanced Tracking Protection".
Mobile browsers (iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and others) offer similar menus. You can adjust cookie-related settings from the browser or app item inside your device settings.
If you block essential cookies, core functions such as sign-in, session maintenance, and CSRF protection will stop working and you will not be able to use the service normally. Blocking functional cookies (NEXT_LOCALE) still lets you use the service, but you may need to set preferences such as language again on each return visit. Blocking performance (analytics) cookies, or marketing cookies once they are introduced, will not affect core functionality; it will only reduce the accuracy of statistics and targeted ads.
